Today, Paris Saint-Germain won the French Football Super Cup, for the 12th time, by defeating Toulouse, Benfica’s opponent, in the play-off to reach the round of 16 of the Europa League, 2-0 .
Playing at home, at the Parque dos Príncipes, in Paris, the French champion practically solved the challenge in the first half, thanks to accurate shots from South Korea’s Lee Kang-In, shortly after the third minute, and from Kylian Mbappé, in the 44th minute.
In the team led by the Spanish Luis Enrique, the Portuguese international Vitinha was a starter, while his compatriots Danilo Pereira and Gonçalo Ramos watched the Champions Trophy win from the bench. Nuno Mendes continues to recover from his injury.
Today, radical fans of Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse were not present at the stadium, protesting the high prices and the fact that the match will be played at the Parc des Princes.
Toulouse, champions of the French Cup, will face Benfica at the Estádio da Luz on February 15, and will host the ‘eagles’ on French soil on February 22.
