The Portuguese under-21 football team will face host country Georgia, Belgium and the Netherlands in Group A of the European Championship 2023, the draw for the final phase, which will be held today in Bucharest.
Portugal, which is still looking for the first continental trophy in the category, after losing the 1994, 2015 and 2021 finals, the latter against Germany, shines in the opening match of the competition, against the Georgians, on June 21 next year .
In addition to Georgia, rookie in the European U-21 final, the team led by Rui Jorge also faces competition from the Netherlands, winners in 2006 and 2007, and Belgium, whose best achievement was the semi-final presence, in 2007.
The final stage of Euro2023 will take place between June 21 and July 8 of the following year, in Georgia and Romania.
The group stage will take place between June 21 and 28, with the top two from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals, which will be held on July 1 and 2. The semifinals are scheduled for July 5, while the final will be played in Batumi, Georgia on July 8.
