Spanish footballer Pablo Gavi won the Golden Boy award on Friday, which distinguishes the best player under 21 who plays in European football. At 18, the FC Barcelona athlete succeeded his teammate and compatriot Pedri, the 2021 winner.
To guarantee the distinction, which is made annually by the tuttosport, half Italian, the Spaniard beat the Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund) and Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich). The award will be presented on November 7, at a ceremony to be held in the city of Turin, Italy.

Pablo Gavi thus adds the Golden Boy award to the Raymond Kopa trophy, presented during the Ballon d’Or gala last Monday, also to the best under-21 player.
The FC Barcelona midfielder made his debut with blaugrana in the 2021/2022 season and has played more than 60 games with the club in which he was trained. At 17, he was called up to the Spanish national team and scored a goal.
In the list of 20 finalists, there were three Portuguese: central defender António Silva (Benfica), midfielder Fábio Carvalho (Liverpool) and Nuno Mendes (PSG), who were left out of the list of five players who could be distinguished.
