Verstappen, who secured title rehabilitation in Japan two weeks ago, took his 13th win of the season, equaling the record of Germans Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.
The Dutchman left Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) at 5.023 seconds, with Monegask Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) in third at 7.501.
Thanks to Verstappen’s victory at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Red Bull has secured the Constructors’ Championship, its first since 2013.
Verstappen overtook Lewis Hamilton in Austin (Texas) with five laps to go, preventing the Briton from winning his first GP of the year.
Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr. (Ferrari), who started from pole position, left the race on the first lap after colliding with George Russell (Mercedes).
