Ronaldo returns to training under Ten Hague

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training on Tuesday with the remaining Manchester United players. The Portuguese international trained alone and separately from the squad, following the controversy in Red Devils’ game against Tottenham.

The player was recovered during training today in Carrington in preparation for a meeting with Sheriff in the fifth round of the Europa League group stage.

Ronaldo is returning to training on the orders of Erik Ten Hag after refusing to take part in the match against Tottenham, according to the coach, which ended with Manchester United’s 2-0 win. The Portuguese forward even left the pitch early to go to the changing rooms while the match was still in progress.

The return to training with the rest of the team takes place after not being called up for the game against Chelsea (1-1). In fact, it was at the launch of that match that the Dutch coach said: “Cristiano Ronaldo refused to play against Tottenham, so there had to be consequences”.

At the time, the coach recalled that this was not the first time that Ronaldo, without permission, decided to leave the field on his own initiative, recalling a game before the season against Rayo Vallecano, when he even left the stadium. “At that point I told him that behavior was unacceptable. Now it has happened a second time and there had to be consequences,” he said.
