Ivaylo Iordanov does not hesitate to predict the outcome of the Champions League group for Sporting. The performance in London, against Tottenham, 1-1 draw, makes the Bulgarian proud of the performance of the lions, the way in which, as a team, they were solving problems against a difficult rival.
“If Sporting plays like they played Tottenham in London, they won’t have any problems with Eintracht,” says Iordanov. “Sporting played very well, especially in the first half. They could have settled the match, they ended up powerless, but still, they put on a great match.”
Amorim merit? “Without a doubt,” Iordanov explains. “This is Rúben Amorim’s style. He is doing a great job.” A style that is reflected in the collective commitment. “What do I think of this Sporting? It seems to me a team, a team, that works very well, without great individualities. They have to be together, run together, win together”, he stresses.
The standings are now within a tie. If so, Sporting will be in the Champions League round of 16 draw with Benfica and Futebol Clube do Porto.
