Englishman Anthony Taylor is the referee for this Wednesday’s game between Maccabi Haifa and Benfica, on the sixth and final day of the Football Champions League, which will be played in Israel, UEFA reported on Monday.
Anthony Taylor will have assistants Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, and the video referee will be Stuart Attwell, assisted by the Dutchman Dennis Higler.
The English referee has already refereed a Portuguese team in the ‘Champions’, in FC Porto’s reception against Bayer Leverkusen (2-0), and was for the last time in a Benfica match in the 2021/22 group stage season, in the draw against Dynamo kyiv (0-0).
In group H, Benfica has already secured qualification for the round of 16, occupying second place, with the same 11 points as Paris Saint-Germain, it remains to be seen who wins the ‘pole’, in which Juventus and Maccabi Haifa look to finish third.
