Spanish international defender Gerard Piqué announced the end of his football career on Thursday after 20 seasons as a professional footballer.
In a video published on social media, the Barcelona athlete thanks the fans of the club, which he confesses to be “a fan since forever”. “From an early age I didn’t want to be a footballer, but a Barcelona player,” he adds, assuming he has thought a lot “about what that kid would have thought if they had told him all his dreams came TRUE” .

In the emotional message, Pique recalled that “I have always said that after Barcelona there would never be another team”. That’s why “Saturday is the last game [frente ao Almería] at Camp Nou” what are you doing with the sweater blaugrana.
“I will be a fan, I will support the team and pass on my passion for Barcelona to my children, just like my family did to me”he declares, before leaving a guarantee: “Sooner or later I’ll be back. See you at Camp Nou.”
As a footballer, Gerard Piqué won every possible title for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team (for which he played 102 games and scored five goals).
