Daniel Alves and seven footballers who played in Portugal in Brazil’s squad for the 2022 World Cup

Seven footballers who played in Portugal are among 26 called up by Brazil for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The final roster for the tournament, which takes place between November 20 and December 18, includes defenders Éder Militao, Alex Sandro, Alex Telles and Danilo and midfielder Casemiro, all former FC Porto players, as well as goalkeeper Ederson, who represented Benfica.

The winger Raphinha, the former player of Vitória de Guimarães and Sporting, is also part of the latter group of Tite, whose main references are Neymar, of Paris Saint-Germain, and the center of Thiago Silva, of Chelsea, who is preparing to participate in the fourth career World Cup.

Conversely, attackers Roberto Firmino, of Liverpool, and Gabriel Barbosa, of Flamengo, are not included in the chosen list.

Brazil is part of Group G, along with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.

– Defense: Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Thiago Silva (Chelsea), Éder Militao (Real Madrid), Daniel Alves (Pumas), Danilo (Juventus), Bremer (Juventus), Alex Telles (Seville) and Alex Sandro (Juventus).

– Medium: Casemiro (Manchester United), Fabinho (Liverpool), Fred (Manchester United), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle), Lucas Paqueta (West Ham) and Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo).

– Advanced: Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid), Richarlison (Tottenham), Raphinha (FC Barcelona), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Pedro (Flamengo), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Antony (Manchester United) and Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal).
