Portugal kicked off this Monday in the best way the Women’s Rink Hockey World Championship, which takes place in San Juan, Argentina, with an expressive victory against France (8-0), in a match on the first day of group A.
The Portuguese started the account after three minutes, through captain Marlene Sousa, against Maria Silva, in the same minute, and Ana Catarina Ferreira, at seven, widening the Portuguese advantage.
The French, unable to respond, still saw Raquel Santos and Rita Batista, both on two occasions, capture the win in the first half.
The second half was not as intense but there was still time for another Portuguese goal, with Raquel Santos scoring the third on her personal account and the eighth for the Portuguese team, and at no time did France scare the team led by Hélder Antunes.
Portugal returns to the track this Tuesday, to face Spain, which today beat Chile 2-0 and shares the leadership of group A with the ‘quinas’.
