Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) will start from 16th place for the Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valencianade MotoGP, the 20th and final race of the season, which takes place on Sunday in Valencia, Spain.
Oliveira, who had been sixth in all three free practice sessions on Friday, was less happy this Saturday and dropped to 13th place in practice. In the first qualifying session (Q1) he was fourth fastest (1.30.236) and missed Q2.
In a race that will decide the world champion, Spaniard Jorge Martin da Ducati (1.29.621 minutes) took pole position for the second time in a row, ahead of compatriot Marc Márquez (Honda) and Australian Jack Miller (Ducati).
As for the riders competing for the world title, Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) will start from fourth place, while Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) will start from eighth, in a race where he only needs to add two points to to become world champion.
