Chelsea fired coach Tomas Tuchel, the German coach could not resist the poor results. This decision comes after the defeat of the English club in Zagreb, against Dinamo by 1-0, in the match corresponding to the first day of the Champions League group stage. In the English league, Chelsea is in sixth place with 10 points, after three wins, one draw and two losses. Chelsea thanked Tomas Tuchel for his recent years with the club, after winning the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup. Tuchel joined Chelsea in January 2021, having coached Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, the club would like to show its gratitude to Thomas and his team for all their efforts during his tenure at the club. Thomas will have a well-deserved place in Chelsea history after winning the league. Champions, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup,” reads the club’s statement.
In the same statement, the Londoners assure that they will not give more information until the future coach is announced.
Chelsea also recently changed ownership. Russian millionaire Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club’s capital to an American tycoon, Todd Boehly.
