Gary Neville assumes: ‘Manchester United must terminate Ronaldo’s contract’

Gary Neville, former Manchester United captain and current television commentator, said this Thursday that Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with the Red Devils should be terminated in the coming days, after the Portuguese’s various criticisms of the club.

“I don’t think he wants to come back,” Gary Neville told Sky Sports. “I wouldn’t have given this interview if I wanted to come back,” he added. “I knew it would make big headlines and it would mean the end of his career at Manchester United.”said the old English player.

Ronaldo, who returned to United in August 2021 and still has a six-month contract, made controversial statements about the Glazer family, who own the club, questioning the management and lack of sporting ambition.

The Manchester team missed out on the Champions League after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, with 24 goals scored by CR7 in all competitions.

“I wonder what Manchester United are doing because the reality is they know they have to terminate Cristiano’s contract or set a precedent so that no player can come back and criticize them.”Marcel added.

“I agree with some of the things that Cristiano said and many Manchester United fans will agree with many of the things that Cristiano said, but the truth is that if you are an employee of a company and you say things like this, you are the job has to be done and Manchester United should do it in the next few days,” he evaluated about his former teammate between 2003 and 2009.
