“It is also a unique opportunity for me, because I have played more than 200 international matches, but it is the first time that I play against England. We hope to provide a nice game of football and then try to get the best result possible to obtain.”said.

“They have a lot of talent in the team, a coach who knows the players very well, managed to reach the semi-finals of the last World Cup. We have to know what to do during the game, play with ambition. That will change the mentality for the game with England, but also against the other teams,” he stressed.

On the other hand, the coach, who was assistant to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in 2002/03 and between 2004 and 2007, emphasized the “fantastic attitude” of the England players, who “like to play the game” and “not obsessed with possession , as happens in Spain or Portugal”.

“Even with less possession, they create many chances to score. They are always willing to play, with the aim of scoring goals,” emphasized Queiroz, who, in addition to Iran, also accompanied Portugal at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The meeting between Iran and England is scheduled for Monday at 13:00 local time (10:00 in Lisbon) at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
