Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer at Manchester United. Termination of the contract by mutual agreement

Manchester United announced this Tuesday the termination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract by mutual agreement and with immediate effect.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” the club writes in an official statement.

After several controversies throughout this season, from the delay of the preseason to the abandonment of the match against Tottenham before the end of the match, the Portuguese athlete gave a controversial interview last week in which he criticized the club, the coach and several former teammates.

Manchester United “thanks” Cristiano Ronaldo for his “immense contribution in the two stages at Old Trafford, in which he scored 145 goals in 346 games.” The club continues to wish Ronaldo and his family “the best for the future.”

In the interview with Piers Morgan, the Portuguese international assured that the club has not evolved since the departure of Alex Ferguson and admitted that he “has no respect” for the team’s coach, Erik Ten Hag.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under the work of Erik Ten Hag to achieve success together on the pitch,” the club concludes.
