The Netherlands and Ecuador tied 1-1 this Friday, staying at the top of Group A of the Russia 2022 World Cup and eliminating the host Qatar, in a second round match, played in Doha.
The European team took the lead after six minutes, through Cody Gakpo, who scored the second goal of the competition, but the South Americans equalized in the 49th minute, with Enner Valencia’s third goal of the competition.
In the standings, the two teams lead with four points, against three from Senegal and none from the host and newcomer Qatar, which today lost 3-1 against the Africans and can no longer qualify for the round of 16.
