Morocco moved into the lead of Group F of the 2022 World Cup this Sunday, beating Belgium, third four years ago, 2-0 in a Group F second round encounter played in Doha.
Substitutes Abdelhamid Sabiri, in the 73rd minute, and Zakaria Aboukhlal, in the 90+2 minute, sealed the triumph of the Moroccans, who are still in the race to repeat their unprecedented presence in the round of 16 in 1986. The Moroccans won their third World Cup victory (all against European teams), giving Belgium a World Cup defeat after 13 games unbeaten.
The African formation started to add four points, against three from the Belgians, one from Croatia and none from Canada, and even today the runners-up in the title face the Canadians.
