The Netherlands defeated Qatar 2-0 on Tuesday to secure qualification for the round of 16 of the World Cup, as well as first place in Group A.
The Orange opened the score in the 26th minute with a nice goal from Cody Gakpo, who thus became the first player in the history of his national team to score in the first three games of a World Cup.

The three points were secured in the 49th minute by Frenkie de Jong’s goal. Incidentally, the Barcelona player has not scored for his national team for more than three years.
As for hosts Qatar, it was a farewell without glory, with zero points, one point won and seven goals conceded.
