Cameroon, who lost 3-1, and Serbia drew three goals on Monday in the first meeting of the second round of Group G of the 2022 World Cup, played in Al Wakrah.
Jean-Charles Castelleto (29 minutes), former Porto player Vincent Aboubakar (63′) and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (66′) scored the goals for the Cameroonians, while Strahinja Pavlovic (45’+1), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ( 45′ +3) and Aleksansar Mitrovic (53′) scored for the Serbs.
The absence of goalkeeper André Onana against Serbia caused some surprise. According to the AFP, the goalkeeper will have been removed from the World Cup for “disciplinary reasons”. Other sources even guarantee that the guardian was punished after an argument with coach Rigobert Song. The chosen goalkeeper turned out to be Devis Epassy, who hails from the Saudis of Abha.
Even with one game more, Cameroon and Serbia remain in the last two places in the group, both with one point, against three from Brazil and Switzerland, who face each other from 7pm local (4pm in Lisbon) today.
