Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo returned this Thursday to be available for training in Portugal, having missed the preparation session for the game against South Korea, the last in Group H of the 2022 World Cup, the day before.
The captain of the national team, who limited himself to repairs on Wednesday and did not enter the field, was in the last session before the game against the South Koreans, which is scheduled for Friday.
At Al-Shahaniya’s training center, Fernando Santos had trained the 23 players available, and in the 15 minutes open to journalists, all without restrictions, with the outfield players warming up and practicing with the ball, and the three goalkeepers work alongside one of the goals.
Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira and Otávio remain absent from the team’s work and are all recovering from their respective injuries.
The left back will even miss the rest of the World Cup due to the muscle injury he sustained against Uruguay, although he will remain in the Portuguese delegation.
Portugal and South Korea will face each other at 6pm local time (3pm Lisbon) at Education City Stadium in Doha on Friday in a match for the third round of Group H of the 2022 Mundial which runs until December 18 in Qatar.
The ‘quinas’ team, which qualified for the round of 16 with a victory over Uruguay (2-0), leads the group with six points, three more than Ghana, second, and five more compared to South Koreans, trained by Paulo Bento and Uruguayans, who face the Ghanaians at the same time.
