Bruno Fernandes used social networks on Sunday morning to express his feelings after the national team’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar against Morocco.
The Manchester United midfielder begins by saying that “it’s hard to put into words everything we felt yesterday as soon as the game ended”, and confesses that “our dream fell apart when we did everything we could to to let it end differently. It’s sad. and painful because representing us means much more than just playing football”.
In the same text, Bruno Fernandes guarantees that “despite the elimination, I am very proud to be Portuguese and even more so to all those who represented our country with me at this World Cup”.
“I would also like to congratulate the Morocco team on the great game and on the well-deserved qualification for the semi-finals of the World Cup,” concludes the number 8 jersey of the national team.
