Boris Becker, a former tennis star, was released from prison on Thursday after serving a sentence after filing for bankruptcy in 2017.
The Press Association news agency said the 55-year-old German six-time Grand Slam champion would be expelled from the UK, following previous media reports in Germany.
Becker was sentenced in April to two and a half years in prison for hiding $2.9 million in assets and loans to avoid paying debts. He was declared bankrupt in June 2017, owing creditors €58 million (£50 million) for an unpaid loan on his property on the Spanish island of Majorca.
A judge at Southwark Crown Court in south London told Becker, who has lived in the UK since 2012, that he would serve half of his prison sentence. However, the former tennis player was released on Thursday morning and must now be deported, the Press Association said, citing no sources.
It was initially reported that he was being held at Wandsworth Prison in southwest London, near the All England Club at Wimbledon, where he won three titles. He was then transferred to Huntercombe lower security prison, near Oxford, in the south of England, for foreign criminals awaiting deportation.
Boris Becker was eligible for deportation because he is not a British citizen and was sentenced to more than 12 months in prison.
