Croatia, runner-up in 2018, and Morocco will play this Saturday for third and fourth place in the 2022 World Cup, a day before Argentina and France debate the trophy in Qatar.
At the Khalifa International Stadium, in Al-Rayyan, Croatia, which reached the semifinals of a World Cup for the third time, seeks its third podium, after third place in 1998 and second in 2018.
Ahead, the Croatians will have the big surprise of the 2022 World Cup, the Moroccan team, the first African team to reach the semifinals of a World Cup.
The two teams had already met in the group stage, in a match that ended in a 0-0 draw, in the debut of the two teams in Qatar.
After winning Group F, Morocco eliminated Spain (0-0, 3-0 on penalties) and Portugal (1-0), before falling to world champions France, while second-placed Croatia same pool, knocked down Japan (1-1). -1, 3-1 on penalties) and Brazil (1-1 after extra time, 4-2 on penalties).
The start of the match between Croats and Moroccans is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. local time) and will be refereed by Abdulrahman Al-Jassim, from Qatar.
The 2022 World Cup final will be played on Sunday, at 3:00 p.m., between Argentina and France.
