American tennis star Serena Williams was banned this Friday from the US Open, the fourth and final ‘major’ of the season, after losing to Australian Ajla Tomjanovic in the third round.
Williams, 40, was defeated 7-5, 6-7 and 6-1.
The American, who has won 73 trophies in her career, 23 of them in ‘Grand Slam’ tournaments, suggested in a recent interview that she could leave tennis after the US Open.
