Cristiano Ronaldo may be close to being a player for Al Nassr, from Saudi Arabia. According to the Spanish sports newspaper Marca, the contract between the Portuguese athlete and the Saudi club will be valid for two and a half seasons and could become official in the next few hours.
The Spanish newspaper reported that the captain of the team decided to travel to Riyadh to sign a contract with Al Nassr until 2025. On the table there will be 200 million euros for the total duration of the contract.
However, according to the same publication, the Portuguese international should remain linked to the country until 2030 as ambassador of the 2030 World Cup bid that brings together Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece.
If the news is confirmed, Cristiano Ronaldo will be Portugal’s opponent in the candidacy for the organization of that World Cup, since an Iberian candidacy recently joined by Ukraine is also competing for the same goal. There is also a South American candidacy, between Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Peru.
