UEFA postpones Rangers-Naples due to Queen’s funeral arrangements

The Champions League football match between Glasgow Rangers and Napoli was postponed one day from Sunday to Wednesday due to “heavy police and organizational constraints” related to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Thus, the match scheduled for Tuesday will only be played on Wednesday, at 8:00 p.m. (Lisbon time), as well as the clash between the U-19 teams participating in the Youth League, which takes place at 2:00 p.m. :00 hours.

In Group A of the ‘champions’, Glasgow Rangers is coming off a 4-0 defeat against Ajax, while Napoli beat Liverpool 4-1.

For the same reasons, Napoli fans will not be able to attend the match, so, in equal measure, UEFA guarantees that the Scots will also forgo traveling to Italy on October 26.

Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, aged 96, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and her remains will be transported to Edinburgh before heading to London, heavily mobilizing Scottish police.
