Ken Block, American rally driver, has died at the age of 55 in a snowmobile accident, The Hoonigans team reported this Tuesday morning.
Ken Block, who currently represented Audi, competed in World Rally and Rallycrosse events, but was best known for videos featuring acrobatic, drifting, and top-spinning maneuvers called Gymkhanas.
“Ken was a visionary, a trailblazer and an icon. Most importantly, a husband and father. He will be missed,” wrote the American team of pilots.
Ken Block even competed in the Rally de Portugal, where he suffered an accident in the 2011 edition, without physical sequelae.
He also competed, at the Montalegre International Circuit, in the 2016 World Rallycrosse race.
The accident occurred on Monday in Wasatch County, Utah, in the United States.
According to local authorities, the snowmobile Ken Block was riding skidded, overturned and fell on top of the cyclist, who died at the scene from his injuries.
