Sporting confirms the signing of Mateo Talongo

The Argentinian midfielder Mateo Talongo is Sporting’s reinforcement until 2027, with a release clause of 60 million euros, the Portuguese I League club announced on Thursday.

“Mateo Tanlongo is a member of Sporting Clube de Portugal’s main football team and has signed a contract that runs until 2027. The midfielder, an under-20 Argentina international, has a release clause of 60 million euros”reads on the lion website.

The 19-year-old midfielder trained with Rosario Central, where he played in Argentina’s first team for the past two years.

“I am very happy to be here, with a lot of desire to do things right. I already knew Sporting, I know that it is the biggest Portuguese club and I know that there were several Argentines who played here, one of them who has just become world champion: the Marcus Acuna”the athlete told the Lions website.

The footballer, who also has Italian nationality, takes on the weight that coach Rúben Amorim had in his option to cross the Atlantic to Sporting.

“It was very important for me to come here. They spoke very highly of him and I have seen that he is ‘wanna'”he justified and later revealed that his “adaptation” to the new reality has counted on the cooperation of Uruguayans Coates and Ugarte, two teammates of the “10 stars”.

The midfielder, “more defensive, who likes to have the ball and play”, also praised the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy, an infrastructure that he says has “a very high level, with very good facilities”.

To the partners, he promised to “do his best to help the team achieve its goals”, convinced that he will contribute on the field to “give the fans a lot of fun”.
