Roberto Dinamite spent almost his entire playing career at Vasco, graduating, despite a brief stint at FC Barcelona, ​​where he made 11 appearances in 1980, Portuguesa, in 1989, and Campo Grande, in 1991. .

In addition, the forward had his entire career linked to Vasco da Gama, first in the youth ranks, then in the senior team, from 1971 to 1980, from 1980 to 1989, in 1990 and again in 1992, at a club where He was twice champion and in which he was also elected president (2008/2013).

In the Brazilian team, Dinamite participated in 47 games and scored 26 goals, being called up for the 1978 and 1982 World Cups, but playing only in the first.
