Former Brazil international Roberto ‘Dinamite’ died on Sunday at the age of 68 after a long illness, Vasco da Gama, the club of which he was a symbol, reports.
“Vasco da Gama communicates with inestimable regret the death of the greatest idol in the club’s history, Carlos Roberto de Oliveira, Dinamite, aged 68 (…),” the Brazilian club said on its official page.
It is with the deepest regret that Vasco da Gama receives the information that #biggestofeverything left us this Sunday.

Roberto Dinamite spent almost his entire playing career with the Vasco club, where he graduated, despite a short stint with FC Barcelona, for which he made eleven appearances in 1980, Portuguesa in 1989 and Campo Grande in 1991.
In addition, the striker was associated with Vasco da Gama throughout his career, first with the youth, then with the seniors, from 1971 to 1980, from 1980 to 1989, in 1990 and again in 1992, in a club for which he was twice champion and in which he was also elected president (2008/2013).
In the Brazilian national team, Dinamite accounted for 47 caps and scored 26 goals, was called up to the 1978 and 1982 World Cups, but only played in the former.
