American Jenson Brooksby knocks out world number three at the Australian Open

The Norwegian Casper Ruud, number three in the world, was eliminated this Thursday in the second round of the Australian Open by the American Jenson Brooksby, 39th in the ATP ‘ranking’.

Ruud lost 6-3, 7-5, 6-7 (4/7) 6-2 in a match that lasted almost four hours.

Brooksby, 22, will now face his compatriot Tommy Paul, 35th in the world ranking, for a place in the round of 16.

Also out of the Australian Open, also in the second round, was the Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, number two in the world, eliminated by another American, Mackenzie Mcdonald.
