Midfielder Gavi has extended his contract with FC Barcelona until 2026, which now includes a termination clause of 1,000 million euros (ME), the Spanish Football League club announced on Wednesday.
At 18 years old, Pablo Gavira, known as Gavi, is already one of the references of the Catalan club, which was seeking at all costs to renew the contract with the player and increase the termination clause, which stood at 50 ME, one relatively below of the current level of the football market.
In the information published on the official website of FC Barcelona on the Internet, the values of the salary increase of Gavi’s new contract, whose public signing ceremony will take place on Thursday, at 5:00 p.m. (Lisbon time), at the Camp Nou.
The midfielder arrived at ‘Barça’ in 2015, coming from the lower categories of Betis, and made his debut with the main team in August 2021, against Getafe (2-1 victory), at the age of 17 years and 24 days, becoming the fourth player youngest to wear the blaugrana shirt.
Since then, Gavi has made 54 appearances for FC Barcelona, having scored two goals, and gained the trust of the Spanish coach, Luis Enrique, having already made 10 international appearances and scoring one goal for his country.
