On Tuesday, FC Porto secured their place in the quarterfinals of the Basketball European Cup, after achieving their fourth consecutive victory in Group I of the second phase, 90-64 against Craiova, at the Dragão Arena.
The Porto players benefited from the defeat in Chemnitz, against Cholet, to secure one of the top two places in the group, whatever the result of the two games that remain to be played.
When all the teams have four games played, FC Porto has eight points, Cholet seven, Chemnitz five and Craiova four.
The ‘dragons’, who reached halftime winning 44-34, ‘destroyed’ in the fourth part, with a 23-9 run, for the biggest victory of this campaign.
The team led by Fernando Sá, who was already thinking about the historical classification, debuted the North Americans Jay Threatt and Marvin Clark, but once again it was Max Landis, with 29 points at the end of the game, the great figure of the ‘dragons’.
At the Dragão Arena, Teyvon Myers (15 points), Brian Conklin (8) and Miguel Cardoso (8) were also decisive in the defeat of the Romanian team, the weakest of the ‘poule’,

In the fifth round of Group I of this second phase of the Basketball European Cup, FC Porto will receive Chemnitz at the Dragão Arena, on January 31.
