Footballer Paulinho suffered an “injury to his right shoulder,” Sporting said this Wednesday, a day after the team qualified for the League Cup final by beating Arouca 2-1.
In the match played at Estádio Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria, the striker ‘leonino’, who scored both goals for Sporting, was injured in extra time and remained on the field until the end, after which he left with an immobile shoulder.
With qualification for the League Cup final, Sporting returned to training today, with the starters recovering and the rest evolving on the pitch.
Midfielder Daniel Bragança remains out of reach for Rúben Amorim as he is being treated for a serious knee injury sustained in July.
In the League Cup, Sporting wants to win its fifth trophy in 16 editions, waiting for the opponent to come out of the semifinals today between FC Porto and Académico de Viseu, from II Liga, in a match that starts at 19:45 .
The final, which is scheduled for Saturday at 7:45 PM, will again take place in Estádio Dr. Magellan Pessoa.
