Benfica records the third win in a row and excels at the top of the I Liga

This Tuesday, Benfica cemented their lead in the Portuguese I Liga by winning 3-0 at Arouca for their third consecutive away win without conceding in 11 days in an 18th round fixture.

João Mário scored 10 league goals in the 25th and 54th minutes, and Croatian substitute Petar Musa sealed the triumph of the reds in the 80th minute, who lined up without Rafa, Gonçalo Ramos and Argentina’s Enzo Fernández, eventually starting from the light.


With this result, Benfica now has 50 points in 19 games, 10 more than Sporting de Braga, 11 against FC Porto and 18 against Sporting, all with 17 games played, while Arouca remained with 26, dropping to seventh place.
