UEFA threatens to exclude FC Porto from its competitions. Dragons say they are fulfilled

This Friday, UEFA released a statement saying that FC Porto “failed slightly” in the goals outlined for complying with the rules of the fair game financial control, which is why the UEFA Club Financial Control Committee has decided to impose a fine of 100,000 euros, guaranteeing that dragons will be banned from European competitions for the next three seasons.

To avoid this exclusion, the Financial Control Commission says it is necessary that “the club’s total break-even result for fiscal years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 meets the break-even requirement”.

FC Porto, meanwhile, has already responded to this UEFA communiqué and guarantees that, “taking into account the good results of last season, FC Porto SAD is pleased to announce that it has already succeeded in achieving the objectives of the agreement, which will be formally transmitted to the competent authorities in October next year”.

It should also be noted that Santa Clara was also fined 10,000 euros for “minor violations of financial balance requirements”.
