Sporting de Braga tries to get closer to the leader, FC Porto returns to winning ways

This Saturday, Sporting de Braga seeks to get closer to the leader Benfica, in the reception to Vitória de Guimarães, while FC Porto visits Gil Vicente, with the hope of returning to the path of victories in the Portuguese Football League.

With the hard-fought victory on Friday, at the start of matchday five, against Vizela (2-1), the ‘incarnates’ remain isolated at the top, with 15 points, five more than the second-placed Braga, who in this day will star in the Minho derby with the biggest rival, starting at 3:30 p.m.

The team led by Artur Jorge, the only one that remains undefeated along with Benfica, comes from three consecutive victories in the competition, all by expressive numbers, and will now face a Vitória de Guimarães with opposite performance, in a series of two defeats that leave Guimarães in ninth place, with 10 points.

Starting at 8:30 p.m., in Barcelos, FC Porto will try to react to the first defeat of the season, registered in Vila do Conde, against Rio Ave, and the ‘dragões, in third place, with nine points, can even take advantage of an eventual slide of the ‘arsenalists’, to ascend to the vice-director.

For his part, Gil Vicente, ranked 12th, with five points, does not know what it means to win five official matches -three of them in the First League- having won only one championship, just on the opening day, against Paços de Ferreira, in House.
