This supporter group is part of the 30 who were arrested in an operation by the PSP with groups of ‘loose’ supporters of Sporting and Benfica.
On Thursday, 16 Sporting supporters were released, they are not allowed to have contact with each other and with the offended parties and are still forbidden to “approach and visit all stadiums across the country on match days and their surroundings, within a distance of at least 500 meters”.
According to the order published on Thursday by the Supreme Court on the coercive measures of the 16 defendants questioned, one of the defendants will continue with the term of identity and residence to which he was already subject.
Also according to the court document, the 16 defendants have been charged heavily with four crimes of violation of qualified physical integrity.
Three of these defendants are still heavily charged with a felony of qualifying damage related to the sporting phenomenon, a felony of participation in a brawl and three felonies of violation of qualified physical integrity.
According to information released by the Supreme Judicial Council at the request of the President of the Lisbon District, the suspects were split into two trials, with Sporting supporters being heard on Thursday.
The remaining 13 supporters, who belong to Benfica, present today for questioning, should be made aware of the coercive measures around 10am on Saturday, a judicial source said.
In addition to the 29 red-handed arrest warrants outside, the Public Security Police said that “another person was also arrested red-handed in possession of a prohibited weapon, in the case of a firearm.”
This red-handed person was released and the facts were reported to the Sintra court, a police source told Lusa.
In addition to the 30 arrests of persons between the ages of 18 and 47, along with “two groups associated with the ‘casuals’ movement” of “lions” and “eagles”, “various materials related to this subculture”.
Among the items seized are three firearms and more than 750 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, pyrotechnic materials, from fireworks to smoke pots and flares, bladed weapons and other craft instruments, “13 artifacts of maritime signalling”, 5,840 doses of hashish and 1016 doses of heroin.
