Portugal’s Gustavo Ribeiro was crowned second skateboarding world champion this Sunday, in the final of the contested world in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, won by Frenchman Aurélien Giraud.
The Portuguese Olympian, winner of the 2022 SLS Super Crown, achieved a score of 267.38 in the final decision on the street in Sharjah, giving him second place, behind Giraud (269.33).
In third place was Japan’s Ginwoo Onodera, just 12 years old, with 263.04.
Gustavo Ribeiro, 21 years old, wins another medal after already winning the world skateboarding circuit and triumphing in the Supercrown of the Street League Skateboarding, in November 2022, in Rio de Janeiro.
This World Championship, organized by World Skate, dates back to 2022, as it was not held in Brazil last year as planned, and is the highest ‘listed’ event for the Olympic ranking with a view to Paris2024.
At the modality’s debut at the Olympics, Gustavo Ribeiro placed eighth and graduated.
