Real Madrid left Mallorca beaten (1-0) by an own goal in the 20th round of the Spanish football league this Sunday and could see leader FC Barcelona go further afield.
The only goal of the game came from an accident by central defender Nacho Fernández, in the 13th minute, after he put the ball into his own goal, defended this Sunday by Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, who replaced Belgian Thibaut Courtois, after he injured while warming up.
In the second half, Marco Asensio had a chance to restore the tie, but from the penalty spot he allowed the defense of Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic in the 60th minute.
Due to this defeat, the meringues keep the same 45 points, in second place, against the 50 of ‘Barça’, which will receive Sevilla this Sunday, at Camp Nou.
The group from Mallorca is still in 10th place, with 28.
