Christian Atsu, former FC Porto player, found alive in the rubble in Turkey

Former FC Porto player Christian Atsu was found alive this Monday under rubble in the Hatay region of southern Turkey. The vice president of the local club, Hatayspor, confirmed to a Turkish television channel that the athlete continues to be removed from the venue.

Christian Atsu’s house collapsed after the earthquake. The death toll caused by the powerful earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria has risen to more than 2,600 in both countries, with reports of thousands injured and buildings destroyed.

The quake hit southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria and is considered the largest since 1939. The 7.8 magnitude temblor was also felt in Lebanon, Cyprus, Israel and Jordan.
