Domenico Tedesco is the new coach of Belgium. The coach of Italian and German nationality succeeds Roberto Martínez, the Spaniard who now leads the Portuguese team.
The announcement was made this Wednesday morning. Domenico Tedesco is 37 years old and has coached Schalke 04, Spartak Moscow and Leipzig.
The coach signed a contract until 2024 and will aim to qualify Belgium for the Euro Cup in Germany.
In his first reaction as Belgium coach, Tedesco did not hide that “it is a great honor to be the new coach of Belgium. I really want to do the task and I am very motivated. I had a very good feeling from the first conversation”, referred to the website of the Belgian Football Federation.
Domenico Tedesco’s debut at the head of the Belgium team is scheduled for March 24, against Sweden.
