Now there is a novelty regarding the first model presented, which was quite discussed. On this occasion, the competition will not be closed to a few clubs, but open to all banners and with access based on sporting merit.

The Super League guarantees a minimum of 14 games to the participants, that is, compared to the current Champions League, at the moment only the finalists play up to 13 games. The European Super League is intended to replace the “Champions League”.

Bernd Reichart begins by saying in the letter published this morning that European football is on the brink of an abyss, that there have been huge imbalances across the continent and that traditional clubs cannot compete.

In this article, entitled “Ten principles for a European football league”, other issues are addressed such as commitment and respect for national championships, improving the financial sustainability of the participating clubs and committing to greater care for the players who they play in it. They’ll play. The goal is to make the European Super League more attractive to young audiences.

There are also topics dedicated to women’s football, the fans and even solidarity between clubs and institutions, including the European Union.

The company administrator, who leads this project, admits in this article that they have already spoken with almost 50 clubs, and that the time has come to make changes.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are the three clubs that continue to actively lead this project.

The European Super League is still awaiting the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the dispute that it maintains with UEFA and where it accuses the European body of an alleged monopoly in football, and which it says does not respect the principles of Fundamental values ​​and freedoms.
