American tennis player Serena Williams was excluded this Friday from the US Open, the fourth and last ‘major’ of the season, after losing to Australian Ajla Tomjanovic in the third round.
Williams, 40, was beaten 7-5, 6-7, 6-1.
The American, who has won 73 trophies in her career, 23 of them in ‘Grand Slam’ tournaments, suggested in a recent interview that she might quit tennis after the US Open.
