An FC Porto fan was arrested during Saturday’s game against Rio Ave for disobeying a measure banning sports venues, a source for the Authority for the Prevention and Combating of Violence in Sport confirmed to Lusa today.
The 18-year-old fan in question, from the Porto Super Dragões cheerleading squad, was detained by the PSP during the match of the 21st round of the 1st Football League, because he was “not allowed access to sports venues and was waiting for notification of the final decision for attempting to introduce pyrotechnic artifacts into the sports venue,” said the same APCVD source.
In addition to being detained for “disobeying the prohibition order”, the Porto fan was “at the same time notified of the final decision of the case, imposing a fine of 1000 euros and a ban on access to sports venues for a period of time of 10 months by the crime committed” during the meeting on September 30 between the “dragons” and Sporting de Braga.
The supporter will be present in court.
