Benfica wins the Women’s Roller Hockey Super Cup for the ninth consecutive time

This Saturday, for the ninth time in a row, Benfica won the Women’s Rink Hockey Super Cup, beating rival Sporting 6-2, in a match played in Vila Franca de Xira.

The ‘encarnadas’ built the victory with goals from Marlene Sousa (02 and 28 minutes), Maria Silva (04 and 36) and Catalina Flores (40 and 42), with Margarida Florêncio (22) and Inês Florêncio (45) reduced to formation ‘green and bank’.

Benfica, national champion and winner of the Portuguese Cup last season, won the ninth Super Cup in its history, a trophy it has won consecutively since 2013 (it was not played in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic), and reinforced the achievement record holder status, ahead of CD Nortecoope, which has seven.
