On his official website, the leader of the Spanish championship confirmed the physical problem of the 34-year-old player, who was full-time on Sunday in the defeat against Almería (1-0), and that the injury to his back and thigh will be followed by the club’s medical service.

FC Barcelona has not revealed Lewandowski’s scheduled rest, but it is practically certain that he will not be in Thursday’s duel with Real Madrid in the Spanish capital, in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals.

In his first season at FC Barcelona, Lewandowski has scored 25 goals in 31 games across all competitions and leads the LaLiga top scorer list with 15.
