Sporting SAD with record profit of 47.5 million euros in the first half of 2022/23

Sporting SAD presented a net profit of 47.5 million euros in the first half of 2022/23, five times higher than the profit of 9.5 million euros obtained in the same period, the ‘lions’ announced on Tuesday.

“This net result is the result of a very positive evolution of operating income, the result of the inflow of financing from the UEFA Champions League. To this variable are added the results obtained with the transaction of players and the success of the strategic and investment initiatives, which are allowing the growth of the rest of the lines of operating income”, highlights Sporting SAD in the statement sent to the Commission of Stock Market (CMVM).

Billing was also a record, reaching 148 million euros, and the ‘leonina’ SAD reached positive own funds for the first time in five years, of 31.2 million euros, the highest in its history.

The operating result without player transactions reached 9.4 million euros, the second best historical result in homologous terms, only surpassed by the previous season 2021/2022, reaching income from player transactions of 73.9 million euros , derived mainly from the sales of athletes Matheus Nunes and Joao Palhinha.

Sporting SAD also highlighted the “24.1 million euro reduction in liabilities that had been interrupted by covid-19”.
