Benfica hosts Marítimo this Sunday in a match from matchday 7 of the League. The day after FC Porto and Sporting dropped points, the eagles aim to win to distance themselves at the top of the league table. On the opposite side, Marítimo are the only team in the championship yet to score, after Paços de Ferreira claimed the first point on Saturday.
In the second minute of the game the first goal almost appeared. Cross from the right to Benfica’s attack and, at the second post, Cláudio Winck almost scored an own goal, but the ball went to a corner.
After ten minutes, another opportunity for Benfica. Grimaldo low center from the left and Gonçalo Ramos deflected, in the small area, for a great intervention by Miguel Silva.
At 27 minutes the goal of the eagles finally arrived. Rafa wins a rebound and isolates himself, deflecting the goal in the face of the Maritista goalkeeper.
