Benfica, closer to the Women’s Champions League after beating Rangers

Benfica won this Tuesday 3-2 in the Scottish bastion of Rangers, in the first leg of the second and last round of access to the Women’s Champions League.

At the Ibrox Stadium, in Glasgow, the Brazilian Ana Vitória, in the 38th and 56th minutes, and Pauleta, in the 78th, sealed the victory for the Reds, while the Jamaican Kayla McCoy scored twice for the hosts, in the minutes 25 and 58.

The team led by Filipa Patão thus takes advantage of the second leg, scheduled for September 28, at the Benfica Campus, in Seixal, heading for a second consecutive presence in the group stage of the Champions League.
